Real recruiters don’t ask for payment

If you’ve received a suspicious message about an Adecco Group opportunity, learn how to protect yourself

We are aware of an ongoing wave of scams where cybercriminals are impersonating Adecco Group consultants and senior leaders to contact people with fake job opportunities - sometimes including a financial incentive. These messages can be convincing. We want to make sure you have everything you need to protect yourself.

If in doubt, Stop. Verify. Report to compliance@adeccogroup.com

OUR PLEDGE

WHAT'S HAPPENING:

Scammers are sending emails, WhatsApp messages, LinkedIn messages, ... that appear to come from our consultants or senior leaders. They offer fake job opportunities - sometimes with a cash incentive - and over several messages build trust before asking recipients to pay for CV/resume services or similar third-party offerings.

HOW TO SPOT IT - RED FLAGS

🚩The email address looks almost right, but not quite. Scammers often use email addresses that mimic official ones. For instance, an email may come from something like AdeccoJobs@gmail.com (a fake account) instead of an official @adeccogroup.com address. If the email domain name (the part after the @) isn’t an official Adecco email, be suspicious.

🚩The message feels slightly "off" or out of context. Maybe it’s for a job you never applied to, or from a person you don’t know. The content might have unusual wording, poor grammar, or promises that seem too good to be true (like an extremely high salary for a simple task). If it feels strange or unexpected, trust your instincts.

🚩There is urgency or pressure to act quickly. Scammers often try to rush your decision. You might be told you have to respond immediately, act by “today,” or that you’ll miss out on the opportunity if you don’t pay or send information right now. Real employers won’t pressure you like this.

🚩You are asked to move the conversation to WhatsApp, Telegram, or personal email. The person might initially email you but then request to talk over WhatsApp, Telegram, or a personal email address. Shifting a conversation away from official company channels is a common tactic of scammers so their activities are harder to trace.

🚩Any request involving payment, bank details, or sensitive personal documents

WHAT TO DO:

Here are the immediate steps you should take to protect yourself and help us fight fraud:

✅Do not reply to or engage with the message

✅Do not make any payment or share personal information

✅Verify through official channels - visit our official website (adeccogroup.com) or the official site of your local Adecco branch and reach out directly to confirm whether the opportunity is real.

✅Report it to us: Please forward the suspicious email (as an attachment, if possible) or send screenshots of the messages to our security team at compliance@adeccogroup.com.

✅Report the account to the platform it came from (Gmail, LinkedIn, WhatsApp): Send us the original email or message which you have received from the scammer, we can initiate take-down actions. If the approach came through a third-party platform (for example, a Gmail account, LinkedIn message, Facebook post, WhatsApp chat, etc.), use that platform’s reporting tools to flag the content or user. This helps the platform operators crack down on scammers and prevent them from contacting more people.

Remember, you are not alone and there are steps that can be taken. Acting quickly is crucial in these situations.

If something about a job offer or communication doesn’t feel right, stop and double-check. You can always contact Adecco Group or your local Adecco office via our official website or official phone numbers to confirm whether a communication is genuine. We would much rather have you verify with us first than see anyone caught in a scam. Your vigilance helps keep everyone safe.
