How can companies tackle talent scarcity and retain talent? The current skills shortage goes beyond the great re-evaluation and responds to rapidly transforming industries due to digitization, the green transition, and volatile geo-political situations. Understanding global and regional employment forecasts and scenario analysis is key for leaders to address these issues and create resilient business models through up and re-skilling, diverse talent, addressing workers’ needs and purpose driven leadership.
The first wave of the pandemic in 2020 saw a collapse in women’s employment. Since then, not enough women have been returning to work. Why is this? And, more importantly, what can we do about it? Women work disproportionately in sectors that were especially hard hit by Covid, such as hospitality and retail, or on the front lines of the crisis and working conditions became more stressful. How can we prevent a lost generation of women at work?
Finding work and meaningful employment is critical to enabling financial stability for refugees and underpins their ability to begin new lives and secure futures. Our #JobsForUkraine platform is assisting displaced people from Ukraine to find work in the countries where they have taken refuge. Of those registering their CVs on the platform, more than eight in 10 (85%) are women and the most frequently mentioned areas of work experience are: administration, customer services, sales and trading, and hospitality.
